About
The Simultaneous Interpretation Bootcamp Course is an intensive 4-week training focused specifically on the simultaneous mode of interpretation. The course includes 20 hours of live instruction presented three times per week and additional practice materials for participants to complete outside of live instruction hours. Participants will gain knowledge of theory and techniques for simultaneous interpretation, but the main focus for the course is on the practical application of the skill. Through consistent and targeted practice and personalized evaluation and feedback from the instructor, participants will improve their endurance, accuracy and confidence while interpreting in the simultaneous mode. This course is only suitable to English/Spanish interpreters.
Our Simultaneous Interpretation Bootcamp (English/Spanish) is a 4 week, 24-hour online program that you can take from anywhere in the world via Zoom. The course includes:
- 4 hours of targeted practice and homework

- The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) of TN = 20 hours of foreign language credit, or the entire 3-year CEU requirement for registered/certified interpreters
- The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) KY, NE, NM, OR, MS = 20 hours of foreign language credit
- Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) = 20 instructional CE hours, more than half the required number of CEs over 4-year period leading up to renewal
- National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) = 2.0 CEUs, two-thirds of the required CEUs required every 5 years.

- Live Zoom sessions: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 pm - 7:30 pm CST & Saturdays 9:30-11:30 am CST
- Twelve sessions total: 8/24, 8/26, 8/29, 8/31, 9/2, 9/5, 9/7, 9/9, 9/12, 9/14, 9/16, 9/19)
- **You must be able to attend all twelve sessions in order to complete this course. No make up classes will be offered.

- Deposit is nonrefundable, but goes towards the total cost of the course.
- This course will cover all areas of interpretation, including legal, educational and medical.
- This course is intended for experienced professional interpreters.
- This is NOT an introductory interpretation course, nor is it a preparatory course specific to the AOC oral exam.
- You must be able to attend all twelve sessions in order to complete this course. No make up classes will be offered.
