This is when class confirmation/cancellation decisions are made, and your registration can make a difference.Objective: Learners in this first course in American Sign Language (ASL) will begin developing basic communication skills through interactive activities and guided conversations. By the end of the course, learners will be able to greet others, introduce themselves or others, exchange basic personal information, discuss family and feelings, use fingerspelling for names and unfamiliar words, and describe simple daily routines. Learners will also be introduced to foundational Deaf cultural practices and respectful communication within the Deaf community

Objective: Learners in this second course in American Sign Language (ASL) will build on the skills developed in ASL Beginner 1 through interactive activities and guided conversations. By the end of the course, learners will be able to describe people and objects, discuss daily routines in greater detail, use numbers in practical situations, and communicate in common settings such as restaurants and stores.

This is when class confirmation/cancellation decisions are made, and your registration can make a difference.Objective: Learners in this third course in American Sign Language (ASL) will expand upon the communication skills developed in ASL Beginner 2 through longer interactive activities and more detailed conversations. By the end of the course, learners will be able to describe places and activities, discuss transportation and directions, share past experiences, and express reactions and opinions. Learners will also develop their ability to ask follow-up questions, connect ideas, and add detail to conversations using both familiar and newly learned ASL vocabulary. Learners will also explore Deaf culture and history through discussions of significant people, events, and contributions to the Deaf community.
