This is when class confirmation/cancellation decisions are made, and your registration can make a difference. - Objective: Learners in this class gain a solid foundation in the basics of Russian through study of the Cyrillic alphabet and basic sounds of the Russian language. They will be slowly introduced to the alphabet, going over the shape and sound of letters one by one and learning them in the context of vocabulary words. Practice will focus on making simple statements and asking yes/no questions within the topics of greetings/introductions and personal information (e.g., nationality, address, phone number, etc.). Learners will also be introduced to Russian culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.

This is when class confirmation/cancellation decisions are made, and your registration can make a difference. - Objective: Learners in this class will build upon the foundation of literacy and dialogues in Beginner 1 to begin learning major aspects of Russian grammar and the case system. They will learn how to conjugate and use the verbs “to have” to describe possessions and hobbies and to talk about daily routines. Learners will also practice asking about and describing where things are in a room and using possessive pronouns and vocabulary for family members when interviewing someone about their personal information.

This is when class confirmation/cancellation decisions are made, and your registration can make a difference. - Objective: Learners in this class will build on skills developed during Beginner 1, 2 and 3. They will learn to conjugate the verbs “to love” and “to hate” (любить, ненавидеть), plus the accusative case for direct objects to talk about they hobbies. Learners will use в and на to describe playing instruments vs. playing sports. They will also describe hobbies and routines using many new verbs and three new verb patterns. This course continues in the textbook that is used throughout the Beginner level.
