Korean Beginner 1 Online (Thurs., 6:30-8:30pm CT)

(course designed for true beginners)

Objective: Learners in this class will be introduced to a very basic repertoire of words and simple phrases related to personal details and concrete situations. Practice will focus on appropriately asking and answering questions within the topics of greetings/introductions, sharing basic contact/personal information, and basic descriptions. Learners will also be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.

Practice will focus on appropriately using both the polite and honorific endings, continued talk about weather, daily activities, and basic descriptions of both situations and people. Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.

Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions

Continued conversation practice will pertain to daily activities and schedule, upcoming, planned, and past events, weather and condition as well as incorporating new grammar. Students will be guided to continue to practice appropriate use of both the polite, honorific and deferential forms of speech. Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.
