** This class will be held at Tennessee Language Center - 220 French Landing, Nashville, TN (course designed for true beginners) Instructor: April Daciuk Objective: Learners in this class will be introduced to a very basic repertoire of words and simple phrases related to personal details and concrete situations. Practice will focus on appropriately asking and answering questions within the topics of greetings/introductions, sharing basic contact/personal information, and basic descriptions. Learners will also be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.
Instructor: Elizabeth McClary Objective: Learners in this class will build on the knowledge acquired in Korean Beginner 1. Learners will continue to refine their pronunciation as well as comprehension and production abilities in Korean. Practice will focus on appropriately using both the polite and honorific endings, continued talk about weather, daily activities, and basic descriptions of both situations and people. Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.
* Class begins March 26, ends June 18th. No classes in May Instructor: Elizabeth McClary Objective: Learners in this class will build on the knowledge acquired in previous Korean Beginner classes. Learners will continue to refine their pronunciation as well as comprehension and production abilities in Korean. Practice will focus on continued appropriate use of both the polite and honorific endings, continued conversation practice pertaining to daily activities and schedule, upcoming, planned, and past events, weather and condition as well as how to incorporate new grammar into conversation. Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions
* Class begins March 29. Ends June 7th. no class 5/10 or 5/17 Instructor: Elizabeth McClary Objective: Learners in this class will build on the knowledge acquired in all previous levels. Learners will continue to refine speaking and comprehension abilities in Korean through weekly conversation practice. Continued conversation practice will pertain to describing daily life, feelings, future and past events, likes and dislikes, as well as incorporating new grammar and vocabulary introduced in class and as a result of conversation. Topical conversations are also introduced as appropriate. Learners will be guided to continue to practice appropriate use of both the polite, honorific and deferential forms of speech. Learners will continue to be introduced to Korean culture and customs through multimedia and cultural interactions.
