** This class will be held at UT/TSU Agricultural Extension Office at the Agricenter, 7777 Walnut Grove Road, Building B, Memphis, TN Instructor: Samira Jubran Objective: Learners in this class will build on skills developed during Beginner 1 with the Arabic alphabet and sound systems (Modern Standard Arabic) and how to engage in simple conversation. They will demonstrate their understanding of spoken and written descriptions of people, places and events and follow simple spoken commands/instructions.

Instructor: Yvonne Roman Objective: Learners in this class will build on skills developed during Beginner 1 and 2 with a focus on the Arabic alphabet and sound systems (Modern Standard Arabic) and continued conversation practice at the novice low proficiency level. Each unit covered in this course addresses all four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking (including colloquial Arabic). Activities will provide more open-ended practice to enable learners to push themselves in speaking and writing and to comprehend texts slightly beyond their current proficiency level in reading and listening. The instructor will also guide the learners to explore Arabic culture featuring a wide variety of regional traditions and dialects.
